Alocasia infernalis

Alocasia infernalis

Alocasia infernalis

This Alocasia is relatively new to the horticultural scene, and joins the ranks of the "jewel" Alocasias. While not as difficult as some, this plant does have a finicky nature. Alocasia infernalis tends to grow a more elongated stem and so with time becomes "wobbly" or top-heavy in the pot. Full grown blooming specimens are amongst the smallest of the jewel types.

The inflorescences have a morphology similar to that of the A. cuprea, and in some ways this plant is reminiscent of a very dwarf and very dark A. cuprea.
